1. How Delivery Costs Are Calculated

Every delivery quote is calculated automatically based on four variables:

• Your location — the town you select at checkout
• Farm location — currently all active farms are in the Central District
• Total order weight — all items in your cart combined
• Vehicle required — determined automatically by your order weight

The delivery cost is shown clearly before you confirm your order. There are no hidden charges added after checkout.

2. How the Delivery Route Works

Our transport costs are calculated on the actual movement of the vehicle required to fulfil your order:

3. Vehicle Selection

The delivery calculator automatically selects the most appropriate vehicle based on the total weight of your order. FPE uses a safe payload approach to protect your products, reduce road damage, and ensure reliable delivery.

Tip: Larger orders use the vehicle more efficiently, which means a lower delivery cost per kilogram. The checkout calculator shows your truck utilisation percentage so you can see exactly how efficient your order is.

4. Delivery Towns Covered

We deliver to 27 towns across Botswana. Select your town at checkout and the delivery cost is calculated instantly.

5. Shared Truck Loads — Split the Cost

If your order doesn’t fill a truck, you may be paying for unused capacity. Shared Truck Loads allow multiple buyers to consolidate their orders under a single delivery to one agreed location — splitting the transport cost between them.

This works well for:

• Neighbours combining household purchases
• Restaurants or retailers pooling orders
• Schools and institutions buying collectively
• Community buying groups
• Farmer groups purchasing inputs together

One person places the combined order and all products are delivered to the single agreed address. Contact us to discuss coordination.

6. Self-Collection

Prefer to collect directly from the farm? Choose Self-Collection at checkout. No delivery fee applies. You will receive the farm address and an agreed collection window after your 80% deposit is confirmed.

Please note: collection must be arranged in advance. Unscheduled visits to supplier premises are not permitted.

7. Payment & Dispatch

FPE will not dispatch your order until the required deposit has been received and verified. Payment can be made by bank transfer (EFT) or Cash on Delivery for the balance.

8. Delivery Timeframes

Typical delivery takes 1 to 5 business days from the date your payment is confirmed. Long-distance destinations may require additional time. Timeframes depend on product availability, supplier readiness, vehicle scheduling, and road conditions.

9. Large Orders & Custom Quotes

Orders above 41 tonnes, livestock, oversized loads, or deliveries to unlisted locations require a custom quotation. Contact our logistics team before placing your order and we will prepare a quote based on your specific requirements.
